Set in France during the 1950's, Populaire follows Rose, a spritley 21 year old, looking for a better life; and so she applies for a secretary job in Normandy. Her typing skills persuade her employer to keep her on and he begins entering her into speed typing competitions.

Deborah Francis as Rose is adorably likeable, with her ditziness and ambition. As her talent increases throughout participating in the competitions, she finds herself in New York with the whole world at her feet, yet she's missing the man who helped her get there. She falls for her boss, Louis, almost instantly but his only desire is to unleash her full potential, as he finally begins to reciprocate her feelings, Rose is already fed up of trying to catch his attention in other ways.
With a glowing cast and a classic Hollywood picture style, Populaire is both, amusing and touching.
A lighthearted romantic comedy that will leave you smiling.
